Today's FPI news:

  • PUMA Germany: Leap from Fair Pay Analyst to Fair Pay Developer
  • GS1 as Fair Pay Analyst on board the Fair Pay Rocket
  • Negotiation seminars should be abolished
  • More news on Equal Pay Day and International Women's Day
Dear ,

It is a disgrace that Equal Pay Day is still not a thing of the past and that women are still paid significantly less than men! But for the FPI, March 7 was a good day: for the first  time we were allowed to award our "Gold Medal" to a German company! I am very pleased that BMW AG was able to close the pay gap for all 80,000 employees and become the very first company in Germany to be certified as a Fair Pay Leader - the highest award the FPI Screening Board can give!

As part of the certification process, the company has also committed to voluntary transparency. I am pleased to announce: BMW AG has an unadjusted gender pay gap of 1.3 per cent and an adjusted gender pay gap of -0.9 per cent.

You see: Fair pay is possible, even in the traditionally male-dominated automotive sector, where the gender pay gap of 22 per cent is above the german national average of 18 per cent!

PUMA Germany also shows that fair pay is a question of will and not of ability. The sports goods manufacturer has made the leap from Fair Pay Analyst to Fair Pay Developer in a very short time and is also well on its way to closing all pay gaps. And GS1 Germany (the one with the barcodes!) is also fresh on the road to Planet Fair as a Fair Pay Analyst. Welcome aboard!

If you want to know why it's such a good idea to get on board, you can read about it in the Handelsblatt and the Sueddeutsche Zeitung, watch the Tagesschau's Economy Update on International Women's Day or the WDR Servicezeit on Equal Pay Day!

And then please register quickly here for the UNIVERSAL FAIR PAY CHECK!

I look forward to our journey together to Planet Fair!

Yours,
Henrike von Platen
