Check in for the check! Get certified now!

Dear  ,

To celebrate the start of spring, we certified the first companies back in March and awarded them the UNIVERSAL FAIR PAY CHECK. In case you missed this historic live première, it was fantastic! In addition to the wonderful address from our patron Hubertus Heil, the German Federal Minister of Employment, and some glittering film premières, we witnessed the first best practice Q&A between our pilot companies. So our newly-certified Fair Pay Analysts could immediately put their questions to the likewise newly selected Fair Pay Leaders. These questions were then discussed in a small group at another ‘first’ to which our pilots were exclusively invited: our very first Best Practices Exchange, open to all participating companies as a regular session.

No wonder the places in our Fair Pay Rocket are slowly but surely filling up, with such a constructive atmosphere on board! Because in addition to the insights from other companies and the dialogue with experienced experts on remuneration, companies signed up to the UNIVERSAL FAIR PAY CHECK also get everything else they need on the way to fair pay – no matter where they’re starting from, no matter how big they are, and all for a very modest fee. We help in the search for an analysis partner, invite the participating companies to our exclusive Best Practice Exchange sessions, workshops and events, provide them with white papers on fair pay as well as the FPI Tool Compass, and ensure targeted networking.

If you’re wondering where the catch could be, there isn’t one! On the contrary, companies we certify aren’t just doing something good for themselves, they’re also taking equal opportunities forward while improving the figures for the next Global Gender Gap Report, the report on equality worldwide. Once again in 2021, our Scandinavian colleagues lead the ranking (most notably Iceland), while Germany has lost its position in the top ten, slipping to 11th place.

Is it a coincidence that Iceland is home to our first two Fair Pay Leaders? And if not, what exactly is Iceland doing better? Could fair pay be standardised in Germany too? This is what we want to find out with your help, so we’ve launched a Fair Pay Survey among German companies. Click here to take part (in German).

International dialogue provides the vital fuel for our Fair Pay Rocket: right now we’re preparing our next global conference in collaboration with the Equal Pay International Coalition (EPIC). Save the date of 28 July 2021 and an invitation will follow shortly.

But before that, in May I’m also warmly inviting you to participate in a webinar on Fair Pay implementation. Together with Willis Towers Watson, we’ll be presenting the results of our 2021 Fair Pay Study and inviting you along for the discussion (in German).

And don’t forget the most important thing: check in for the check! As Sheryl Sandberg said: "If you’re offered a seat on a rocket ship, don’t ask what seat! Just get on."

Naturally, the same applies to our rocket, so hop on board!

Yours sincerely,
Henrike von Platen
